Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His retrieving strategy and regular reactions on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

He saved four initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
